After a long period of inactivity, I finally managed to give a new touch to the layout of my website. I changed the look of the website as well as the usability. Some pages were deleted and others changed places to make the website more user friendly.

Among the main updates are the addition of a twitter implementation on my home page, the addition of a Diigo tags box on the links page and an update of my CV. I also added my Bachelor Paper to my portfolio.

[Website updated]. I made some changes to some of the pages and layout. I hope this makes the site more clear and functional.

I am being pretty inactive at the moment but, from time to time I do update some parts of my website.
Today I updated my CV and added my recent working experience and the follow-up of my studies.

For my photo`s of this years trip to Japan, I at first planned to create a page like the one I did for my photo`s of last year. But, it`s not really possible to do a thing like that now. so I am planning to do it when I returned. At the moment you will have to look at the photo`s on my "flickr" account, as I will upload them to it regularly.

New Article

I've added a new article to the "Japanology" section, that has served as a term paper for a course on Korean popular culture. It can be found here.

Important News

I passed my second year of Japanology at K.U.Leuven without fail. I don't have to re-take any examinations, so I can enjoy my hollidays to their extent.

Second, I won't be doing my 3rd year this year. I am going to study in Japan for one year starting in september, so my 3rd year of Japanology is beïng postphoned for one year due to this one year study in Japan.

Recently I started using "flickr.com" for uploading my best photo's and was thinking about a better option to show my photo's on my website than the html page I was using untill now. I've found a verry usefull flickr slideshow generator which can be embedded in your website. The website is the following: flickrslidr.com. And from now on I am going to use this tool for nearly all my photo pages.

iGo

Since I am an active Go player, I wanted to keep record of all the games I played in order to keep track of my progression in the game as an entirity aswell as against individual players. Therefore I created an iGo game database here.

Forum Status

Because of irritating registering spam bots I had to shut the forum down. It will remain this way until I find a way to block those bots, but it doesnt look that simple.

Blog Status

I also added a blog to my website to be able to make simple posts about various research objects. The only inconvenience is that most posts will be in dutch.

Website Status

I still have limited access to computers so updates on the website itself are also limited.

I have uploaded the articles I have been working on the past few months.
I have created them for school, so they are written in dutch.
the first one is about Okakura Tenshin, a scholar from the Meiji period who did his best to preserve the authentic Japanese art in period when everyone was throwing away the Japanese identity to become "westerner".
the second one is about the stretching of international capacities of the Japanese self defence force.

secondly, I have added a new feature to the site. Most articles will apear in pdf format aswell. These pdf's can be downloaded from the article listing page by clicking on the "adobe" icon.
I did this because it gives a better printeability and it makes an article easier to read in pdf I think.
